Application-defined or object-defined error

23rd August 2024

Description

On computers which use a comma for the decimal separator – for example “2,36”, an error message is received when you start PowerPoint or if you try to symbolise something. The message may contain “Application-defined or object-defined error”. It’s not possible to use the symboliser.

Note, this does not affect Windows installations which are set up to use a point to separate the decimal from the rest of the number.

Solution

We have identified the cause of the problem, and a new version of the Symboliser will be available mid-September. Contact us if you would like to be notified when the updated version is available.
